ABOUT ME
I'm a 2D/3D artist with over two decades of professional animation experience in TV shows, commercials, short movies, educational programs, DVD menus, legal animation, and award-winning science and medical visualizations. I am originally from the UK but currently live and work in San Francisco.
I'm a strong generalist in most areas of 3D production, including modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing. I also have experience with effects work such as particles and fluid simulations.
I have occasionally been known to write scripts and tools with MEL.
I’m a long-time Maya user and have a ton of experience leveraging this program to the hilt, in particular using its referencing workflow.
I have a proven track record of managing complex and long-form projects from start to finish. Whether it be a shot specific problem or overall pipeline issues, creative problem solving is my forte.
I’m happy whether I’m working as a one-man band doing everything, or part of a large team.
In my spare time I'm an amateur musician, love nature and hiking, and go SCUBA diving whenever I get the chance.
SOFTWARE
Maya for 3D. And of course with Maya come various third party plugins and external MEL and Python scripts. Vray is my preferred rendering engine, but I also have knowledge of Arnold and Redshift. Substance Painter for 3D texture painting, and Nuke and After Effects for compositing, post work and effects. And Photoshop, of course.
Supporting roles:
I also have working knowledge or better of Premiere, Adobe Creative Suite, Deadline, Smedge, Cinema 4D, Keyshot, Houdini, Blender, Golaem for Maya, ShotGrid, and Unreal Engine.
